How the Cathedral of St. Gervais and St. Protais of Soissons has survived its dramatic history?
One of its towers was completed, the stones of the construction site served for the reconstruction of the city devastated by the Burgundians in the fifteenth century, vandalized by the Huguenots in the 16th, she suffered the damage of the Revolution, then transformed into powder keg under the first empire the ravage explosion. Partly destroyed during the first world war, one hundred years later in 2017, a storm gutted the rose window of the façade. Bullet-ridden, the walls of the Cathedral bear witness to a millennium of painful history of Aisne.
